WHAT IS Fiber Reinforced Polymer (FRP) Tensile Testing?

Fiber Reinforced Polymer (FRP) Tensile TestingIs the process of determining the in-plane tensile properties of polymer matrix composite materials reinforced by high-modulus fibers. The calculations that can be derived include ultimate tensile strength, ultimate tensile strain, and tensile chord modulus of elasticity, Poisson’s ration and the transition strain. These values are used to determine the size of structural members, the quantity of reinforcements, and to compute the stress for observed strains. Due to their lightweight properties and high tensile strength, composite materials are increasingly used in the construction, aerospace and automotive industries.
