WHAT IS Fiber Reinforced Polymer (FRP) Tensile Testing?

Fiber Reinforced Polymer (FRP) Tensile TestingIs the process of determining the in-plane tensile properties of polymer matrix composite materials reinforced by high-modulus fibers. The calculations that can be derived include ultimate tensile strength, ultimate tensile strain, and tensile chord modulus of elasticity, Poisson’s ration and the transition strain. These values are used to determine the size of structural members, the quantity of reinforcements, and to compute the stress for observed strains. Due to their lightweight properties and high tensile strength, composite materials are increasingly used in the construction, aerospace and automotive industries.

HOW WE DO Fiber Reinforced Polymer (FRP) Tensile Testing

FRP testing requires specialized experience and equipment. Various testing methodologies are available, including Attenuation-Based Ultrasonic Testing (UAX), Acoustic Emission Testing (AET), and Digital Radiography (DR). Each method has its advantages and limitations, and the choice of methodology depends on the specific application and the type of defect being detected. In addition to the testing methodology, sample preparation is critical to obtaining accurate and reliable results. To meet ASTM D3039 standards in applying FRP panels in building structure support, we conduct destructive in-plane tensile, static, tension, shear, and oblique testing and proper functioning tests.

Serving Los Angeles County, Orange County, San Bernardino, and Riverside County we are committed to providing our services in a timely and professional manner. We pick up all sample specimens within 48-hours of notification and aim to provide lab results within three days of initial test.
