CCRL

Cement and Concrete Reference Laboratory Proficiency Testing Program

Specialized Testing participates in CCRL’s Proficiency Testing Program. The Cement and Concrete Reference Laboratory (CCRL) Proficiency Testing Program is a program specifically designed to assess the performance of laboratories that test construction materials such as concrete and rebar. The CCRL program provides blind samples of concrete and rebar to participating laboratories, and the laboratories test these materials using their standard procedures and methods.

For concrete, the CCRL program tests for various properties, including compressive strength, air content, and slump. For rebar, the program tests for mechanical properties such as tensile strength, elongation, and yield strength.

After testing, the participating laboratories submit their results to the CCRL program, which then evaluates the laboratory’s performance based on the degree of agreement between their results and the reference values. The CCRL program provides feedback and guidance to the laboratories to help them improve their testing procedures and ensure that their results are accurate and reliable.

Participation in the CCRL Proficiency Testing Program is often required for accreditation or certification of testing laboratories, and it is also used by industry organizations and government agencies to ensure that construction materials meet the required standards and specifications.
